A Healthy Workplace?

Lets face it, as life continues we have less and less time to really work out, sure we play with the notion of going to the Gym 7 days a week, some of us get out 3-4 times and that is a victory of its own for many of us.  But what can we do in the workplace to make sure we are doing what we can to stay healthy.  Here are 3 tips to living a healthier “Work Life”…

1.     Park in the boonies…. Sure grabbing the parking spot closest to the door is the most appealing, in all honesty whenever I head out to Wal-Mart I’m always looking for the closest spot (aren’t we all) usually its because we don’t want to have to walk.  So try this, park far on purpose… yes on purpose.  If you park further away that means you’ll have to walk further to and from work and although it wont add up to a marathon it will certainly increase your activity level!

2.     Stay away from the potlucks…. Right as if that’s really possible, in all reality moderation is the key so keep your eyes in line with your desires when walking down the buffet line and you’ll be okay.  Want to make sure you don’t overdo it?  Drink a bottle of water before you head to the banquet, this will make you feel fuller faster!

3.     Consider working out at your workstation, there are a ton of great products out there that will provide an easy way to get a little work in.  Take for example this Peddler by Roscoe Medical; it is a convenient way to get a few laps in while nobody is looking.  Simply slip the peddler under your desk, set the tensioner to a good resistance and peddle away while you work!
