Often when life’s difficulties come around, we lose sight of the greater things in life, if you are a caregiver, this can come in the delay of a loved ones response to a new medication or even news of a worsening diagnosis. Difficulties come in many shapes and sizes, and their gravity or lack thereof is something only we can determine. The only way to determine its affect on our lives is to begin to understand whether we are, “Planters”, “Tossers”or “Squeezer”. Over the last few weeks we have talked about the Planter and Tosser approaches to caring for a loved one, this week we are talking about the Squeezer…
The squeezer to be entirely honest is only one in a million… let me stress that this is not because they are better than either of the others, its simple really much like it takes a special person to teach or to cure diseases, there is just something internal about the squeezer that makes them hard to come by. You see a squeezer recognizes the “Lemon”, not only do they see it, but they are prepared for it wondering not only how it will impact them, but thinking ahead to how the Lemon will serve a purpose. Unlike the planter, the squeezer will find a way to make any difficulty work and unlike the tosser, they don’t feel helpless the squeezer grasps the need and does the necessary to meet the need.
The expression “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade” is the perfect example of the squeezer, they will take the circumstance and turn it for good, they will take the bitterness and find a way to sweeten it, they can even take the hard exterior and use it for something beautiful…
Over the past few weeks we have talked Lemons, Squeezers, Tossers and Planters… those of you that have read this far are wondering where we go from here? The answer is simple:
Planter, the Lord calls you to “Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”Psalm 55:22
Tosser, the Lord reminds you, “ For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
Squeezer, lets face it, there really is only one that that removes the bumpy rough outer layer to reveal what is really inside, and only one that can taste the most bitter interior and see it not for its acidity, but for its potential… His name is Jesus Christ. If you find yourself in a place of bitterness, un-forgiveness or overwhelmed or simply confused the simple answer is and has always been Jesus. If you would like to make him Lord and Savior of your life don’t waste another moment come in today we would love to tell you more about Him…
